Fanzy Bikes: Not Quite the Tour de France | A Comedy Short Film

Three years ago..

..the team of Holy Moly film productions around Mascha, Hannes and Imanuel came to Fanzy Bikes to create a short film of it's own. Why it took the movie so long to be released is best described by Holy Moly:

Our dream was to create a comedy series about the daily drama in and around a colorful bike shop with all its different characters and stories. That's why we decided to shoot a short film for pitching our idea to streamers & TV stations. Preparing the short film we had no money, but a great location called Fanzy Bikes. Salzburg's most cinematic bike shop. Good for us: The location also came with the fanziest protagonist...

...Jakob, the owner of Fanzy Bikes, was immediately on board. He is actually a bike mechanic and has never acted in his life, but 3 days of filming just flew by, with everyone nailing it! Post-production also went smoothly and soon the short was finished! We were super happy & proud, but then reality hit hard!

What the f...?!

It was so frustrating. And yet for months and months we talked to people trying to raise money to finance our project. They really liked our idea, but still refused.

The reasons were different: We have no big projects under our belts yet, not suited for the DACH region, because of the Austrian dialect, too niche...

This made us thinking: 

We still believe in our dream! One day, we will bring this series to life. Until then we have something for you. Our short film Fanzy Bikes is now free-to-watch on Crafty Short Films YouTube channel.
